Why I Chose Fiberglass Pools

What is it about about fiberglass pools?

Why do we choose to install in-ground fiberglass swimming pools here in Utah, instead of another type?

It really comes down to a preference for quality. When I was a kid I spent endless hours in my grandparents concrete pool. I’ve loved pools and being in the water ever since. What I didn’t love about their pool was the rough texture. I distinctly remember having painfully “chewed up toes” from scrambling around the pool, climbing on the edges of the pool, and running in the water.

When I first saw a fiberglass pool I noticed the incredibly clean water and how the color of the pool was vibrant and alive. It looked so clear and refreshing! When I first put my feet into the water of a premium quality fiberglass pool, here in Northern Utah, I realized that this type of pool was not equal to concrete type construction—it was superior. Every time I use one I feel how pleasant the “gel” coating is, and how I don’t have any of the “chewed up toes” feeling.

As an adult, other factors matter now more than ever. Longevity, maintenance, cost, and having a good time with people I care about, are the main things I consider.

Because the fiberglass pools we install have this premium gel coating, they prevent the accumulation of algae and require less maintenance. This leads to less strain on your equipment and lower costs.

The pools we install do not need to be drained. Never need to be recoated or resurfaced. They even have a lifetime warranty from the manufacturer.

So, I’ve asked myself, “If a pool like this has so many advantages, does it have any downsides?” I’ve come to find out that the answer is, they have very few downsides. There are a wide range of pool styles to choose from, including options with spas, tanning ledges, various shapes and depths and a great selection of colors. If you are building a custom pool for your Malibu costal mansion—you’d probably go for a custom concrete option. For your backyard here in Utah, you will not find a better choice.
